Hello hello! Happy Sunday and Happy Easter if you’re celebrating too 🥚 There’s no egg hunt on our agenda today but Reuben and I are preparing a homemade spread of smoked fish and sourdough bagels with all the fixings for our friends. I gotta run back and tend to my bagel dough soon but before I go I wanted to share this giveaway with you!
Last weekend I went to the Le Creuset Factory to Table Sale in San Jose. It was overwhelming for me but made it out in one piece. I originally wanted to attend so I could get a $50 mystery box but I unfortunately didn’t click fast enough when buying tickets, but it’s okay! I still came home with mostly gifts for friends and family because I really don’t need anything. I bought my first Le Creuset dutch oven 10 years ago at a TJ Maxx in San Francisco and since then my collection has grown and the colorful pieces add so much joy to my kitchen. I just want to share the joy of cookware with everyone! If the sale ever comes near where you live I do recommend going because the deals are so great!
I was on the lookout for a pretty dutch oven to give one of you and found this super pretty 3 1/2 quart dutch oven in Brioche and knew I had to snag it right away. Brioche is this dreamy warm off-white color in a matte finish and I found it so unique! Everyone is so particular with their Le Creuset colors and how they work with their kitchens, but I feel like brioche could sit pretty is almost any home. I love the size of it have one of my own that I’ve had for a while. It’s a great size that can live on your stovetop everyday, perfect for baking a smaller loaf of bread, noodle soups, pastas, and braising meats!
How to Enter!
So to enter to win the dutch oven you have to be a paid subscriber (free trials will not count) and all you have to do is leave a comment sharing a recipe from the newsletter you love or tell me what type of recipes you would love to see more of on here! I’ll pick a winner randomly on Friday 4/25 at 9am PST and will contact the winner directly for shipping info! I’ll also throw in a signed copy of Chinese Enough and few other smaller surprise goodies!
Sharing my writing and recipes on this newsletter has truly been such a gift to me the last year and a half. With social media and algorithms constantly changing it gets exhausting trying to chase what’s “popular”, when all you want to do is create and share food that feels simply meaningful. I truly look forward to writing my weekly dispatch, sharing my grocery lists, occasional cute photo of Olive, and garden updates. And of course hearing from you! Comments are the best and generally everyone here is so kind and thoughtful! Thank you so much for being a subscriber and caring about my corner of the internet and thank you tremendously to paid subscribers for supporting and allowing me to continue writing about and sharing my food and culture. Without you all, I couldn’t do this!
Good luck!!!!
I feel like you already know I’m a superfan (yikes??) but I just love everything you do because your excitement and passion for food just make me happy! (And I admire how you are really your own person and aren’t chasing trends. It’s what makes every newsletter so original and worth reading!) It’s sort of that simple. I feel like I have to call out pork pyramids though, if I had to choose one hehe.
I love the classic Poached Chicken with Rice recipe! Always a winner, and the perfect comfort food. And from the Mooncakes and Milkbread book, I love the Gai Mei Bao recipe, milkbread rolls stuffed with a sweet coconut filling. I make them when I have people come over. I love a tear-and-share bake! Thanks, Kristina!
